The idea of talking about medical problems in Japanese probably seems daunting. After all, it’s hard enough in your native language!

There’s lots of specialized terminology, and it can be difficult to describe the symptoms you’re experiencing. But there’s no need to despair! You don’t need to be able to speak Japanese to visit a doctor. More and more clinics are starting to offer services in English. Here are 10 recommended English speaking doctors in Osaka.

Bow Clinic International offers a comprehensive range of medical services, and all of the staff speak English. They practice general internal medicine, otorhinolaryngology, allergology, orthopedics, rheumatology, and dermatology, and also run a pain clinic.

Bow Clinic International can treat common problems such as diabetes, hypertension, colds, and injuries. They can also deal with all of your ear, nose, and throat problems. Furthermore, they can treat your joint or skin problems. Whether you have a complicated problem or a little cold, they are ready to help. In addition to office visits, they can visit your hotel if you are staying in the Umeda area.


Bow Clinic International is located at 2-5-25 4th Fl. Herbis Plaza Umeda Kita-Ku, Osaka-shi. They are open on Mondays to Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm, and on Fridays from 4 pm to 7 pm. The closest train station is Umeda Station.

Nakamura Clinic Osaka offers primary care services in English. They treat common illnesses and conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, colds, allergies, and minor injuries. They also provide routine vaccinations. In addition to office visits, the clinic also does home visits. Also if you are feeling extremely unwell or have difficulty travelling to the clinic, the doctor can come to you as well.

This clinic only treats adults; they do not see patients under the age of 16. Nakamura Clinic also does not have MRI or CT scanners and does not offer emergency services. They ask that you visit a hospital in the event of an emergency.


Nakamura Clinic Osaka is open every day except Wednesdays. On weekdays, the clinic is open from 9 am to 1 pm and 3 to 6. On Saturdays they are open only in the morning. Kono Dental Clinic provides a variety of dental services. All of the dentists and one of the hygienists can speak English. Even if you speak very little Japanese, there is no need to worry. Someone who speaks English will be there through the entirety of your visit. The dentists all hold both DDS and PhD degrees and are very knowledgeable.

The clinic offers a variety of services, including standard dental exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, and root canal treatment. They also do ceramic dental treatments such as inlays and bridges. The dentists at Kono Dental Clinic are highly skilled in restoration. You are sure to be happy with the appearance of your ceramics. They also fit and provide dentures. In addition, the clinic offers cosmetic services such as tooth whitening. Aside from cosmetic services, the clinic accepts Japanese national health insurance.

Yumi Mental Health Clinic offers psychiatry and counseling in English. Dr. Yumi Nakao has spent many years in both English speaking countries and Japan. There’s more than one clinic with an English speaking dentist in Osaka! If you don’t feel like going to Kono Dental Clinic, you can go to Ueda Dental Clinic instead. This dental clinic is a particularly good place to go if you have kids. Dr. Ueda practices pediatric dentistry. Of course, he sees adults as well.

In addition to general dentistry, he provides implants and cosmetic services. He accepts both Japanese health insurance and traveler’s insurance. This means that even if you’re a tourist, you might not have to pay full price. So if you and/or your kiddos are in need of an English speaking dentist, go to Dr. Ueda! His goal is to help you maintain good oral health so you can keep eating the foods you love.


Ueda Dental Clinic is located at 1-3-30,Takamiya, Neyagawa-Shi. They are open 5 days a week excluding Thursdays and Sundays, from 9:30 am to noon and 2:30 pm to 6 pm. They close 2 hours early on Saturdays. The nearest train station is Neyagawashi Station.

In many countries, gynecologists provide both pelvic and breast exams. That is not the case in Japan. For breast cancer screenings, treatments, and other breast health concerns, you must go to a breast clinic. Ribbon Rose Tanaka Kanji Breast Clinic also has an English speaking doctor available. So, if you develop a strange lump or want to get a cancer screening, contact them!

They offer both breast ultrasound and mammogram cancer screenings. Also, if any abnormalities are found, they offer more specialized tests. They can perform mammotomies, fine needle aspiration cytologies, and core needle biopsies. Screenings at Ribbon Rose Tanaka Kanji Breast Clinic are not covered by insurance. However, if any abnormalities are found, insurance will cover 70% of the cost of diagnostics and treatment.


Ribbon Rose Tanaka Kanji Breast Clinic is located at 3-2-17, OGATA BLDG. 6F Imabashi Chuoku, Osaka-City. They are open Mondays and Wednesday - Saturday. The availability of English speaking doctors at Rinku General Medical Center is unclear, but they do offer a free English-Japanese interpreting service. So, if you have a medical problem that can’t be addressed at a regular clinic, Rinku General is a good place to go. Perhaps you need a CT scan or your internist has no idea how to help you. If that’s the case, ask to be referred to Rinku General Medical Center.

The hospital has a wide range of specialists, including cardiologists, gastroenterologists, urologists, and plastic surgeons. While many of them likely do not speak English, there’s no need to worry. The hospital has staff to help you communicate with them.


Rinku General Medical Center’s English interpreting services are offered on weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm.  They are located at Rinku Ourai Kita 2-23, Izumisano Shi. The medical center is linked to Rinku Town Station and is easy to access by train.


As we have gone over in this article, there are a variety of doctors in Osaka who speak English. You can visit a dentist, rheumatologist, fertility specialist, or ophthalmologist without worrying about your Japanese skills. So don’t put off your breast cancer screening or brush off that bad cold! There’s a doctor that can help you regardless of your Japanese ability.
