4 Fishing Spots Near Osaka: Hours, Prices and Access
*Last updated: November 2026*
These four managed fishing destinations are still operating: two on Osaka Bay, one farther west in Kobe and one in the hills of Kaizuka. They suit different kinds of trips, from inexpensive pier fishing to a paid rainbow-trout experience with a grill.
Travel time depends on where you start and the connections available. Nanko and Amagasaki are the easiest to fit into a short outing from central Osaka; Hiraiso and Okumizuma can take longer. Check the official site on the day because bad weather can close an outdoor fishing facility.
1. Nanko Fishing Park, Osaka
Nanko Fishing Park in Suminoe-ku has free admission. It is open from 5:00 to 19:00 in April–November and 7:00 to 17:00 in December–March. Its regular closing day is Wednesday, except when Wednesday is a public holiday; it is also closed December 28–January 4. Weather and sea conditions can prompt an unscheduled closure.
A rental rod with a sabiki rig costs ¥1,000. Bait and tackle are sold at the shop, which accepts cashless payment, but live sandworms and lugworms are not stocked. Each person may fish with one rod at a time. Lure fishing is allowed, while long-distance bait casting and smoking are prohibited. Take your rubbish home.
Parking costs ¥2,000 per day for entry before noon and ¥1,500 per day for entry at noon or later. There is no shuttle bus. By public transport, take the Nanko Port Town Line (New Tram) to Ferry Terminal Station, then a bus for about 10 minutes to Nanko-Minami 6-chome. See the official access page before traveling.
2. Amagasaki Fishing Park, Hyogo
Amagasaki Fishing Park has staff and fishing instructors, a tackle shop and rental rods, making it a practical choice for a first visit. A rod with a rig costs ¥1,500, or ¥1,300 without one.
Fishing admission is ¥830 for adults and ¥410 for children aged 6 to 15; children under six enter free. Spectator admission is ¥200 for adults and ¥100 for children. Parking for a standard vehicle is ¥500 for two to under six hours and ¥800 for eight hours or more; shorter bands are listed on the official page.
Opening hours are:
- May, June and November: 6:00–19:00
- July–October: 5:00–20:00
- December–April: 7:00–17:00
The park closes on Tuesdays. If Tuesday is a public holiday, it opens and closes the following Wednesday instead. It also closes December 31–January 1 and in poor weather. Children aged 10 or under must be accompanied by an adult, and visitors under 16 need an adult with them after 18:00. Free life-jacket rental is compulsory for children in third grade or younger. Lure fishing is not permitted here.
The official access page recommends Hanshin Mukogawa Station followed by a taxi. A seasonal courtesy vehicle operates from the station area from July through October; contact the park for its current timetable. The address is 66 Hirasaemon-cho, Amagasaki.
3. Hiraiso Marine Fishing Park, Kobe
Hiraiso Marine Fishing Park has a 1,400-meter fishing platform, railings, shaded rest areas, accessible facilities and a shop. A rental rod costs ¥1,300, while a set with bait, hook and weight costs ¥2,000; both require a refundable ¥500 deposit if returned undamaged.
From April 2026, fishing prices vary by season. The basic ticket covers four hours:
| Visitor | March–November | December–February | Extra hour, March–November | Extra hour, December–February |
|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|
| Adult (16+) | ¥1,200 | ¥800 | ¥300 | ¥200 |
| Child (6–15) | ¥600 | ¥500 | ¥150 | ¥100 |
Higher prices apply on designated peak dates, so check the calendar before a holiday visit. Parking is ¥700 for four hours, then ¥150 per additional hour. A bring-your-own-food barbecue area is available by advance reservation to fishing visitors and their companions; food is not sold for the barbecue and you cook your own catch.
In November, hours are 6:00–18:00 on weekdays and 6:00–19:00 on weekends and public holidays. The full monthly schedule is on the official hours page. Thursday is the regular closing day, except public holidays; the park also closes January 1 and for a winter inspection period. Last admission is one hour before closing.
The official access guide says Higashi-Tarumi Station on the Hanshin/Sanyo line is about a three-minute walk south, while JR Tarumi Station is about 12 minutes east on foot.
4. Okumizuma Athletic Sports, Kaizuka
Okumizuma Athletic Sports offers a managed rainbow-trout fishing experience rather than open-water angling. The ¥2,000 fishing set includes a rod, bait, bucket, float and a salt-grilling experience. You can take your catch home or grill it yourself; staff assist rather than doing all the preparation. Salt-grilling finishes at 15:00. If you do not catch a fish, a separate grilled-trout experience is listed at ¥800.
Do not copy older advice to bring your own tackle: the current official rules prohibit outside rods, bait, line, hooks and other fishing equipment. The site's main page separately lists general admission of ¥1,500 for visitors junior-high-school age and above and ¥1,000 for children aged three through elementary school.
The fishing and contact pages list hours of 9:00–17:00, last fishing reception at 15:00 and Wednesday as the regular closing day, with exceptions for public holidays and reservations. Some older page footers show a different weekday, so call 072-446-1133 to confirm your date before making the trip.
The official access page puts the site about five minutes by car from Kaizuka Interchange. By rail, it recommends a taxi of about three minutes from Mizuma-Kannon Station, 15 minutes from JR Kumatori Station or 20 minutes from Nankai Kaizuka Station. Walking from Mizuma-Kannon is approximately 3 km and takes about 30 minutes.
Plan your fishing day
Confirm the weather and same-day operating notice, especially at the seaside parks. Rental equipment can run out, and rules differ substantially: lures are accepted at Nanko but prohibited at Amagasaki, while Okumizuma does not allow outside tackle. Bring a cooler only if the facility permits you to take fish home, and follow instructions about cleaning and cooking your catch.
