Osaka Owl Cafe 1: Owl Cafe Cu

The second owl cafe we’ll be sharing with you today is located in Sakai city. The Owl Cafe Cu has six sociable owls roaming freely around the cafe. There are a few breeds of owls to see here, including the grey horned owl and northern white-faced owl. Much like Lucky Owl, there are other animals here for you to check out, too! This cafe also has hedgehogs, or “harinezumi” in Japanese. There are two adorably beloved hedgehogs here which are affectionately named Uni-kun and Pun-chan. You can check these two out as well as the owls for one great price, so if you want to see and pet two different kinds of animals with one entrance fee, then Owl Cafe Cu is a great place to go.

Surprisingly, you can interact with these lovely animals for an unlimited time for a great price! The cost is just 1,000 JPY for adults, 700 JPY for school-aged children, and 200 JPY for ages two and up. However, when the cafe is full and people are waiting, the maximum time each visitor can be inside is one hour. Even if you can only stay for an hour, this is a great deal for such a cool experience. Also, if you’re a repeat visitor, then you’re in luck! You can get a sweet discount to come back and chill with these owls for 900 JPY. For those who don’t necessarily have an hour to spend here, you can pay to have just a quick visit. For 300 JPY, you can get a 10 minute tour of these great owls and hedgehogs. Discluding the quick visit, all fees come with a drink.

During this time, you can usually interact directly with two or three different birds. Furthermore, this plan comes with one free drink. If you wish to expand your drink options to include an alcoholic beverage, there is a plan for this that costs 1,700 JPY. Some of the common rules include turning off flash when taking pictures, and putting your cell phones on silent mode. The staff take these rules very seriously here, as the owls could suffer from blindness due to the sudden camera flashes. This is because they are normally nocturnal creatures whose eyes are meant to be used in the dark at nighttime. On a positive note, the Happy Owl Café chouette reminds us that owls are very fragile, and we must be very careful when handling these delicate creatures. This shop lives up to its name as the staff and owner try to provide a nice and happy environment for both owls and guests!

Please visit their website for more details.
